The Sweet Lemon Project believes it’s essential to feed the whole body which consist of the mind, body, and spirit. We teach self empowerment and the art of a motivational enthusiast. each individual learn how to practice and process self love, self care and self awareness, through in person and online classes. Experts in various fields look forward too volunteering and working one on one and collectively with each student. All products, supplies and educational books that are required for this program are free for all attendees. This program consist of classes that include, but are not limited to skin care, yoga, food preparation, agriculture, hygiene, meditation, fashion, makeup, and understanding nutritional value,
Active military / Veterans Services Life coaching
This program is for our men and women that are active or veterans of our United States military only. This is a one on one online and in person 6 weeks class for victims of domestic violence and abuse. Our organization offer court advocacy so that victims don’t feel alone during legal and court proceedings.
Feedings our visually impaired and blind Veterans
Veterans must register to receive free meals delivered within qualified delivery area.
Mentoring / Goals Assessment / Counseling
Lifestyle training is designed to help people who are blind understand reachable achievements within their daily livelihood and special life events. Each individual. Will have a motivational and empowerment session with a Lifestyle coach, that specializes working with the blind and victims of domestic violence. between the ages of ( youth, teens, young adults) Each attendee will have the opportunity to receive counseling with a licensed professional and one on one training with a professional / advocate / expert for other assessments needs for 6 consecutive weeks. All attendees must go through an approval process before accepted into the lifestyle training program. Each session will be via zoom, some will be in the form of a seminar, personal phone calls based on individual needs and lesson plans that will require speaking in a recorder for home work
. Participants under the age of 18 must meet criteria’s before acceptance into program.
Food for thought and More
The Sweet Lemon Project prepares, cooks and serve fresh healthy meals and supply various hygiene products, clothing necessities, and school supples for registered participants only. All Participants must register to be approved at least one week prior to receiving meal services. The location of this service will be determined at registration and will remain anonymous to the public to protect the privacy and safety of our clients. (Meal delivery is available to veterans that are blind).
We offer in cooking classes both online and in person. Both options will give individuals the opportunity to cook live and know what it’s like to cook in front of a camera.
101:Basics program:
Our 101 basics program is multi level learning experience, This program will include topics that focus on finances, business, Marketing, social media / table etiquette, traveling tips, vlogs / blog. The era of social media is not going any where. Therefore we teach our attendee how to make a living by learning how to film utilizing various filming devices to perfect their sales and productivity. Our classes will explore the media industry and culture exploration Attendee will be given the opportunity to choose one or more subjectsThese workshop and courses will be online via zoom and utilizing private audio live sessions for attendees only. for safety reasons. At the end of each workshop all attendee will film their own commercial and present it to the class.
The location of each online class will be will remain anonymous to the public to protect the privacy and safety of our clients. Detail will be given one week before classes begin. Our social media class will actually be a workshop.
SPECIAL EVENT PROGRAMS:
During Black history month we will offer culture and social justice seminars as well as learn to how to wear various ethic wardrobe
Black history Month is a month long course. each participant will be educated on social justice, culture. Participant will learn how to use their voice by speaking publicly at various event during this month. Some participants will learn speaking skills on various media platforms ( radio, podcast and news stations that are sponsors for this event.
Let’s Go program
Building character and self awareness and how to effectively use your senses and voice are key components taught in this class. Three field trips are sponsored 3 times a year to various places. We teach travel safety, traffic laws, restaurant etiquette, traveling tips that will help participants learn how to use various methods of transportation. Effective communication is key, especially when alone with strangers.This is a topic we never skips in this program. Participants will be required to learn how to quickly use their electronic devices for directions, emergencies and other vital uses as well.
SAFETY FIRST seminar
One of Sweet Lemon top courses that we offer has a huge emphasis on safety. We want to make sure that all of our participates understand how, why , when what and where regarding domestic violence and the white cane laws.
The white can laws were not just implemented for the blind, but for the sighted as well. It is imperative for both sighted and unsighted to learn about the actual tool the white cane and the laws built around it to protect the blind.
Domestic violence affect a victim every 15 minutes. Therefore This seminar and workshop will cover escape plans, self defense, safety kits, protective orders, resources, how to seek shelters and much more.
It’s All About You!
This program covers everything about fashion and style. We introduce personal improvement and development through various concepts and perspectives.
This is one of our more creative programs that requires motivational and inspirational thinking out of the box . The Sweet Lemon Project is here to help participants take their power back with confidence.
Our annual fashion show is during the month of February for teen domestic violence month and in October for blind awareness month for our annual fashion Gala. Event Dates will be determined. Each participant must enroll into our media and theater production class.
Sign up earlier because this class fills up quick. We teach everything fashion, style, modeling and textiles, entertainment, interviewing and much more. We also have a runway exercise that will develop walking skills for those interested in a model career or commercial ads. We have professional photographers for individuals to learn all about how to use a camera and video recording and editing. The entertainment field is so broad the blind community will definitely not be left out. Yes Modeling is entertainment and is similar to acting, so bring your acting skills and be prepared to learn how to own the stage.
